Halloween Eve treat

We had a jam packed evening that included going to salt lake to drop off my amp at The House of Guitars located at 645 South 300 West, then went to The Pie pizzeria located off 200 South by The U for a bite before going to In the Venue to watch The Sounds. Andy already posted some pics of last night but I just edit the video. Here goes....

Here is the girls race. I could only film a little bit because the camera was running low on battery.
BYU's Cecily Lemmon dominated the race, pretty cool.

Mountain West Conference Cross Country Championships in Orem. 
This is the race that i filmed. Pretty good race, BYU got 2nd.

The Sounds came to Salt Lake City or as the locals call it "SL,UT," and we were there to experience the magic of dance music. The show started at 6:30pm at "In The Venue" with Foxy Shazam and Semi Precious Weapons as the openers. We didn't make it in time to see Foxy Shazam because we were still at the Pie (the pizzeria) next to the U munching on a Pepperoni 23inch pizza with some tasty root beer. Once we made it to the show, we caught Semi Precious Weapons whole set and their are pretty crazy, wild, and outrageous live. Semi Precious Weapons where a smack in the face to common decency and bumped the bisexuality up to 11.

Yeah, it was ackward.

After, the Sounds took the stage and all the kids rushed the stage crushing all the tweens in the process. The majority of the Helvetica House are pushing 30 and it's been awhile since we made our way to the front.  All we can say is that, it was brutality and really sweaty, testing our old bodies to the limit. The Sounds started the show off right by playing "Song with a Mission" which was rocking hard as nails and they made the whole crowd bounce like kangaroos. The band continue through a setlist of hits like "No One Sleep When I'm Awake," "Living in America," "Seven Days a Week," "Beatbox" and "Painted By Numbers." To end the show off right, the whole band stage dived into the crowd and everyone went nuts. All in all, this was an awesome show and to make the night even better, one of the members of the Helvetica House got into a fight.

From Man Vs. Food

There was a show on the Food Network called "Man Vs. Food" in which the host travels around the country eating abnormal sized food like a 16 patty burgers or a 11 pound meat pizza.

So in the spirit of the show, we made one pound hamburgers with all the works.  Needless to say, it was a gut buster. Above are the photos of our attempt to "Man Vs.Food", sad to say, we lose!!!!

Just like Coke, this is a classic!!!

Here's a video we did "a long time ago in a galaxy far away," which feature some members of the Helvetica House in their youth or in their prime, considering how you look at it.

Before you say anything, we know that its a bit sloppy, a bit crude, and a bit dumb but it's also a bit entertaining. Like a girl (or guy, depending on your preference) with an ugly face but has a rocking body, you take it for what its worth!

Most college kids in college are proactive with their time, studying hard for exams or involved with some sort of volunteer activity but us, Provo city ruffians, we reject such notions of productivity and devote the majority of our time trolling through the wastelands of cyberspace. We (The Helvetica House) scurry the world wide web in desperate search to learn more about our geeky passions for audio and video gear, we try to keep our fingers close to the pulse of society (tabloid celebs), or remain current with our favorite TV shows (The Big Bang Theory).

We do these things because it makes living life in Provo, UT a little more tolerable and less of a drag on the self-esteem.  Yes, we are a bit jaded with the common Utah social activities and the same social circles that produce such dull events, but in order to combat our discontent for all that is lame, we are making a futile attempt to find a common ground with the common Utahan.

As such, we present this blog!!!!

A bit long winded!!!

But...

As 20th century archeologists, we have made many discoveries worthy of being shared to our blog reading public. The video above is a result of said discoveries that we hope will make you laugh as much as we did.
